You may think that being a celebrity is to lead an easy life, full of people telling you exactly what you want to hear, with enough money to do and buy what ever you want, non stop parties with no consequences, being beautiful and hanging with the beautiful people, having sex with who ever you want.... but in reality, being a celebrity is hard. And being a celebrity that is religious is even harder. What do you do when your choosen God doesn't approve of your lifestyle? What if this weeks coolest faith dictates that you should stop having promiscuous sex, stop partying, or give up your wealth? Well, the important thing for any celebrity in this predicament, is to remember that a couple of thousand years worth of tradition, and the faith of millions of other people, is relatively unimportant compared to your level of fame. Take Christianity for example. Sure Jesus said a ton of stuff about giving your money to the poor, about camels and eyes of needles (?!?), and I am pretty sure the Bible says something about money being the root or something... hmm, what was that again? Take this Jesus saying for example,
"Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions." (Luke 12:15)
Of course, this worked great back in the 1st Century. Being poor was all the rage back then, and what did being rich really get you? Sure you could have more goats than your neighbour, perhaps you lived in a two donkey home, but what else could you do? How many earthenware pots can one person use? But what about now, 2000 years later? I am pretty sure that if Big J was around now, and had the option of having the latest 50 inch plasma screen TV, a Porsche Carrera GT, an X-box 360, and... well you get my drift, if he could have had the pretty cool consumer shit that is available to the rich today, I think its obvious that the Big Man would have changed his perspective on the whole "money issue". And it seems that I am not alone in thinking this, Mary J. Blige agrees.

The Christian hip-hop artist believes that God wants her to rich and materialistic! In a recent interview Mary insisted that God actually
wants her to wear expensive jewels.
"My God is a God who wants me to have things,'' Blige tells Blender mag. "He wants me to bling. He wants me to be the hottest thing on the block."
"I don't know what kind of God the rest of y'all are serving, but the God I serve says, "Mary, you need to be the hottest thing this year, and I'm gonna make sure you're doing that."
I like her logic, temptation clearly is not put in your way to test the strength of your religious convictions, it is because God actually wants you have or do those things! And all that stuff Jesus said about how you forfiet your soul for material possessions... what did he really know, I mean, he is just the Son of God.
Oh and for those of you who wish your God wanted you to be blinged to the max as well, why not check out Mary's official website, where you could win yourself a
