In keeping with the theme of religious hip hop artists, today we thought we would share with you Coolio's thoughts on the important existential questions that plague all celebrities.
In a recent interview, the rapper was asked if he was a "spiritual man", and he responded by saying,
Yeah, but I don't follow an organized religion or denomination. It's not anything like that. I believe that there is one God and I believe people are accountable for what they do, good and bad.
He was also asked how his spirituality affects his everyday life, to which he said,
I try, but I'm human and the nature of the basic human being is evil. I'm no different. I just work at it a little harder than others maybe.
It is nice to see that Coolio has so much faith in humanity, and that he can also disregard all traditional religious forms to develop his own personal brand of generic faith. However his philosophy on life seems to be doing him good; he has successfully recovered from a crack addiction and has had managed to appear in some critically acclaimed films and television shows, including Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Charmed, Batman and Robin, and the brilliantly intelligent, Joey. Now all he needs is for his faith to fix his hair....
